Change

Change is fundamental. You should try it some time.

The caterpillar grows wings, the average wide-eyed wanderer finds a definite purpose in life, even the sun expands. So, dealing with change shouldn't be a very difficult thing , right? WRONG!

Basic human nature makes a person want everything to be like he/she experiences it everyday. Changes that don't matter to him/her ( I'm hinting at the "selfish" nature of human beings ) fall on blind eyes and deaf ears. Changes that do matter in the short or long run, however, are invariably met with frosty-nosed frowns. This coming from a person who thought change was as unnecessary as the "Thumb Thing" ( link: Thumb Thing ) !

Yes, for a person who didn't want to change, I do think it is a wonderful thing. The way you change defines your adaptability in life and how you handle sweaty situations.

The reactions to changes are what amuse me the most. If it brings out a good you, then people usually stare at you for some time ( ring-a-ding-ding, attention seekers!) and then finally accumulate enough brains to ask you the million-dollar question: "Why?" If it brings out a bad you, then God help you, because the one in front of you surely won't. This time, the question would be more like, "WHO ARE YOU, AND WHAT DID YOU DO WITH <insert your name here>?"

Embrace change. Worst case scenario, well, you find that out yourself!
